Why Latisse® is better for your than eyelash extensions

Let’s face it, we’d all love to have beautiful luxurious eyelashes like the ones we all envy in Hollywood.  As with everything else in Tinseltown, they come with a price.  Not only financially, but if not applied properly, they can really damage your natural eyelashes.  I can personally attest to some of the downfalls of permanent eye lashes.  Let me share a story about my sister, who, crazy enough, bought a Groupon for permanent eye lashes.  Perhaps that was her #1 mistake. Evidently, this person had no clue what they were doing.  She had my dear sister’s eyelashes weighed down in a wadded-up mass of glue.  Trust me, there was nothing glamorous with the outcome. After speaking to a few licensed lash specialists, there was nothing to do but wait for them to grow out or carefully try to remove them.  Being her lashes were truly an abomination, she chose the latter which, in turn, pulled out most of her natural lashes.  It took months to repair the damage.
Ladies, do your research.  With the saturation of today’s online reviews, it is really not that hard to find a good licensed lash specialist.  You may have to spend a bit more but trust me, you do not want to experience the Tammy Faye mess my sister had to deal with.  A good set of lashes is going to cost you anywhere from $100 to $400 and truly only last about 3-5 weeks before you need to have them redone.  As with everything else we do in our beautifying rituals, it is a maintenance program so be prepared!
A little well known secret….Latisse!  The stuff works miracles.  Simply apply it like eyeliner at night and in a few weeks, you’ll have thicker, longer lashes.  Easy peasy! Once you have that initial spectacular growth, you can dial it back to 2-3 times per week to maintain.  It’s really a no brainer.  Latisse does work and provides you will luxurious lashes for a fraction of the price of permanent lashes.
Between our nails, toes, hair, Botox, fillers, bleaching, waxing, workouts, who can possibly add another 2-hour routine to their schedule? Hands down, I’m sticking to my 15 second application of Latisse a couple times a week.
Latisse is FDA approved to grow lashes.  In as little as 4 weeks, you’ll start to notice the difference.  In as much as 4 months, you will have real, longer, thicker and darker lashes.  No more Tammy Faye Baker lumpy, bumpy eyelashes. Your lashes will simply be fabulous with the small investment of only $125.
To make your investment go even further, ditch the awkward brushes provided in the Latisse box. These tend to absorb and waste the actual product.  Use a fine eyeliner brush to apply for less waste.
Eyelash extensions can cause damage and the products are not FDA regulated. Patients can experience infections and allergic reactions to particular ingredients in the adhesives as the glue can contain formaldehyde. The American Academy of Ophthalmology has cautioned individuals about the dangers of eyelash extensions such as infection of the cornea and eyelids, and swollen eyelids. One of the worse case scenerios could included temporary or permanent loss of eyelashes. Some doctors also believe eyelash extensions could increase the risk of dry eyes.
